Jess & Chris Say I Do at Sunset Key

Jessica Heath and Christopher Wesley met on a random Sunday funday on the lake. Jessica was new to the city and went with her two roommates to go out with friends on Christopher’s family boat. After two years of a growing friendship, and a couple of nights before his sister’s wedding, Chris finally asked Jessica to be his girlfriend. She said “Yes!”. He first introduced Jessica as his girlfriend to his dad at his sister’s wedding rehearsal. His mother was standing behind him and her jaw dropped when she heard those words. Without turning to look at her he said, “Yes mom. I said girlfriend.” The confirmed bachelor was hooked.

It was about five years of a typical up and down relationship, joys and heartaches, spats and makeups, when Christopher asked “THE” question.
It was August 7th of 2021, on a family vacation at Isle of Palms, South Carolina, that the inevitable happened. They were walking on the beach watching the lightening show on the horizon, looking at the stars and pointing out the different constellations when Christopher asked Jessica if the North Star was the brightest star. She answered, “Yes, it is.” He replied, “I’m pretty sure there is one even brighter.” She disagreed and for a bit they went back-and-forth on whether or not the North Start was the brightest. He looked up at the sky and said he knew there was a brighter star and asked her to help him find it.

Jessica finally asked him, “Well, what is this brighter star called?”. He replied, “It’s called the Jessica Star”. She asked, “Did you buy me a star?”. When she turned to look at him he was on one knee in the sand holding a ring box that had a light in it shining on the diamond making it sparkle twinkle. It took Jessica’s breath away! He said, “This is the brightest star. You are my brightest star.” And just like that, they became a happy, engaged couple!

The two celebrate their wedding on the beautiful island of Key West, Florida, surrounded by family and friends as they began the lifelong journey together. The day could not have been more perfect.
